Mustangs Win 11-10 Walk-Off
|
The Downsview Mustangs beat the Billings West Golden Bears, 11-10, at Visigoths Stadium. Thomas Crawford was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The 17-year old left fielder was a menace to Billings West all day. Downsview reliever Jim Hitt was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Bill Henderson took the loss. The Golden Bears fall to 6-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2033 season.
Kevin Ryan was the walk-off hero for Downsview. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mustangs left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Ryan, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
