Howe, Panthers Wallop Titans
|
It was a good time at Stealth Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Carl Albert Titans and Pleasantville Panthers get after it.
The Pleasantville Panthers beat the Carl Albert Titans, 10-0, at Stealth Ballpark. The Panthers got a fine performance from center fielder Ken Howe, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Sean Harris was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Nolan Cleary, who is tied for 7th in the HAL in home runs with 4, chipped in for Pleasantville with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Howe, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Titans fall to 5-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2033 season.
