The Kearny High Cardinals defeated the Grand Island Islanders, 13-2, at Ballpark of Morelia HS. Kearny High right fielder Nick Fordyce was named player of the game for his superb performance. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. Lou Butt picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 1-1. Kearny High goes to 7-4 with the win.

Jacob Proctor put Kearny High in front, 10-2, when he took Bobby Kimble downtown. His 3-run home run came with no one out in the top of the eighth. It was his 4th home run of the season.
