Murphy 4-4 as Panthers Squeeze Past Billings West
The Derby Panthers did just enough to secure a 10-9 victory over the Billings West Golden Bears at Managua HS Grounds. Nobody did more than right fielder Dan Murphy, who captured player of the game honors. Derby reliever Justin Watters was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Werner Stalker took the loss. The Golden Bears drop to 5-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2033 season.

The Panthers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Joel Fiebig. For the game, Fiebig went 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 16th hit of the season gave Derby a 10-8 lead.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Derby skipper Daniel Hills.
