Earthquakes Rough Up Aces, Take 22-3 Win
The San Francisco Earthquakes beat the Columbus Aces, 22-3, at Central Park Downtown Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Takejiro Nakamura, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Juan Bernal got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings. Nicolas Joubert, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.

Alfredo García aided the San Francisco cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Chris Schell. "But it's got to translate into wins."
