Kearny High first baseman Scott Ayers was instrumental in his team's 8-5 win over the Riverside Poly. Ayers went 4-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cardinals. Juan Torres was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 12 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Mike Marshall earned his 3rd save in 3 tries.
