Indians Roll to 10-0 Win Over Poly
|
Jefferson got an elite performance from starting pitcher Benny Bishop in taking a 10-0 decision over the Riverside Poly. The winning pitcher was Bishop, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 11. The Indians, now 5-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
John Hadley, who is the 7th-best prospect in the Indians organization, chipped in for Jefferson with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Hadley told the Jefferson News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
