The Francis Lewis Patriots faced a tough opponent in Santa Clara pitcher Cory Baber, but did just enough to pull out the victory at River Otters Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Baber went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Tommy Burhoe picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ryan Ballard was tagged with the loss. Losses have been few and far between for the Vampires so far this season. Their record drops to 3-1.

The Patriots got a big at-bat from first baseman Bill Hanson. For the game, Hanson was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Francis Lewis a 4-2 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hanson told the Francis Lewis Chronicle.
