Panthers Lose, 7-3, at Stealth Ballpark
|
The Pleasantville Panthers began the 2033 season with a convincing 7-3 win over the Pitman High Panthers at Stealth Ballpark. Most impressive was Pleasantville second baseman Omari Harris, who was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Will Kearns in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dan Cardello took the loss. Danny Self finished the game for Pleasantville and earned his 1st save.
The Panthers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Juan Velasco. For the game, Velasco went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Pleasantville a 6-3 lead.
"At least I did my job," Harris said.
