The Dallas Texans and Eureka Hornets cranked it up at Metroplex Park.

A 4-RBI performance from the slick-fielding shortstop José Zavala helped the Eureka Hornets beat the Dallas Texans, 8-5. Mitsunari Kobayashi picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 8 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 9-2.

Zavala had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from William MacDougal, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Hornets a 6-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Zavala.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Zavala said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The Hornets bumped their record to 39-37 with this latest triumph.
