Hodgson Hits 2 home runs in Outlaws Win
|
The Calgary Outlaws saddled the Victoria Capitals with a loss at Corvettes Ballpark. The final score was 18-12. Dan Hodgson, named player of the game, was 3 for 4, including 1 single and 2 home runs. The Calgary second baseman scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Calgary reliever Dave Cuff picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Nicolas Durand was collared with the loss. Calgary goes to 35-21. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
Hodgson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Sean Gillis, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Outlaws a 16-12 lead. It was the 23rd home run of the year for Hodgson.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Calgary skipper Kiminobu Kamida.
