Starting pitcher Dave Arden pitched well enough to help the Niagara Stars beat the Kelowna Heat by the score of 7-5. Arden got the win, improving to 3-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Arden allowed 3 earned runs. Rich Neilson converted his 11th save in 13 tries.
George Greening, who is tied for 7th in the LBL in triples with 2, aided the Niagara cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Greening, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
