The Victoria Capitals got a stellar effort from pitcher Bill Acheson, helping Victoria score a 5-2 win over the visiting Trois-Rivieres Saints. Kirk Winman converted his 10th save in 10 tries. Victoria's record now stands at 24-31, placing them last in the Lester B. Person League West Division.
Bill Bartlatt, who is tied for 9th in the LBL with a 1.006 OPS, aided the Victoria cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Victoria manager Tom Morton. "Our pregame was pretty good."
