Victory Pushes Legends Record to 31-23
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Pat Goguen, the Saskatoon Legends defeated the Montreal Royales, 8-2. Goguen went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Legends. Wayne Rockburn picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-0. Jim Spracklin was tagged with the loss. Saskatoon has now won 3 in a row.
Burt Kavanagh, who is rated as the 10th best prospect by BNN, aided the Saskatoon cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the second. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 4 runs.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Goguen told the Saskatoon Herald.
