Merritt Leads Royales to Win
The Montreal Royales defeated the Trois-Rivieres Saints, 15-7. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Terry Merritt, who went 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Montreal currently is in second place in the Lester B. Person League East Division at 27-26.

Tom Watt, who is the 10th-best prospect in the Royales organization, aided the Montreal cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the second. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Merritt said.
