The Montreal Royales topped the Victoria Capitals, 7-6, in CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. The player of the game was Montreal pitcher and Port Coquitlam, Canada native Dave Horswill. Stephen Lau got the save, the 14th for him this season. The Royales bumped their record to 26-25 with this latest triumph.

Kelton Burton, who is tied for 5th in the LBL in stolen bases with 8, aided the Montreal cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Horswill, "but we got it done."
