Capitals Score Late to Upend Royales, 6-5
|
Victoria and Montreal duked it out at Eliminators Ballpark and the Capitals came out victorious.
Capitals shortstop Bill Bartlatt put his stamp on his team's 6-5 win over the Montreal Royales. Bartlatt was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Victoria in the contest. Picking up the save was Don Baxter, his 1st.
Bartlatt had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 3-0 fastball from Alan Best, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Capitals a 6-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Bartlatt.
Bartlatt called the triumph "a good team win."
