Stars Walk Off with Win
|
The Stars had to overcome a good performance from Trois-Rivieres pitcher Rowan Waller to claim a 4-3 win at Drummondville College Grounds. Waller went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Rick Coombs got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. The Saints, now 17-29, have lost 5 in a row.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Niagara trailing 3-2, Ed Lane hit a curveball from Steven Pinnell to right-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Stars had a walk-off win.
