Tight Tilt Goes to Royales, 3-2
|
Montreal Royales starter Mike Norton was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Trois-Rivieres Saints, 3-2. Norton went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2. Stephen Lau got credit for the save for Montreal. It was his 13th of the year.
Jeremy Corcoran aided the Montreal cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Montreal skipper Kevin Haynes.
The Royales bumped their record to 23-20 with this latest triumph.
