Monarchs Solve Heat, 6-4

London and Kelowna duked it out at Hatchets Ballpark and the Monarchs came out victorious.
The London Monarchs defeated the Kelowna Heat, 6-4, at Hatchets Ballpark today. Leading the charge for London was left fielder Eric St.john. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ricky Brown was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Harry Ayotte earned save number 7.
St.john contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for London in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, St.john took a fastball from Dan Lovell and stroked the home run to left. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Monarchs to leap in front, 3-1.
"I like our moxie," said Monarchs manager Chet Hooper.
The Monarchs bumped their record to 24-18 with this latest triumph.
