The Stars grabbed a win, 2-1, at Brantford College Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Kelowna pitcher Alex Julien. Julien went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Rich Neilson recorded the save for Niagara, his 6th of the season. Niagara is 15-24 and Kelowna, with the loss, 21-18.
George Greening made it 2-1, Niagara, in the top of the eighth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Stars win.
Afterward, Stars manager Juan Alea was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
