Monarchs Solve Stars, 6-3
|
Benefiting from Henry Goldsmith's productive game, the London Monarchs downed the Niagara Stars, 6-3. Goldsmith was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Monarchs. The winner was Mohamed Lambert in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Ben Charron took the loss. Earning his 5th save of the year was Harry Ayotte.
Early in the game, shortstop Bruce Fleet had a 2-run triple for London. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Monarchs on top, 2-0.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Fleet told the London Gazette. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
The Monarchs bumped their record to 18-13 with this latest triumph.
