Heat Lose to Legends in Walk Off
The first-place Saskatoon Legends welcomed Kelowna to Ballpark of Red Deer College.

Saskatoon designated hitter Burt Kavanagh was instrumental in his team's 8-7 win over the Kelowna Heat. Kavanagh, who is rated as the 10th best prospect by BNN, went 2-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Legends. Saskatoon reliever Brian Gunter was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Tom Simpson.

Jim Greenan was the walk-off hero for Saskatoon. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Legends pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Kavanagh said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."

Saskatoon leads the Lester B. Person League West Division by 2 games.
