Victoria second baseman Kip Waltenbery made his presence felt in the 3-2 Capitals triumph over the Kelowna Heat. Waltenbery went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Dave Sonier in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Alex Julien took the loss. Victoria now sits in last place in the Lester B. Person League West Division at 11-15.

Waltenbery contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Victoria in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Waltenbery took a slider from Alex Julien and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Capitals to leap in front, 3-1.

"We did enough to win," said Waltenbery.
