The Victoria Capitals defeated the Kelowna Heat, 6-3. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Kevin Parry, who was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The last-place Capitals are now 8-13, the Heat 10-11.
The Capitals got a big at-bat from right fielder Gideon Vaillancourt. For the game, Vaillancourt went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Victoria a 4-3 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Vaillancourt. "And not try to do too much."
