The Montreal Royales defeated the Trois-Rivieres Saints, 4-2. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Tom Horne, who went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Stephen Lau nailed down his 8th save. The Royales bumped their record to 11-10 with this latest triumph.
The Royales got a big at-bat from designated hitter Richard Adamic. For the game, Adamic was 2 for 2 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 25th hit of the season gave Montreal a 3-2 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Adamic said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
