Victory Pushes Outlaws Record to 13-5
|
The Outlaws grabbed a win, 5-3, at Ballpark of Chilliwack College, overcoming a fine effort from Victoria pitcher Karl Morris. Morris went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. Calgary reliever Joe Chute was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Dennis Parry took the loss for Victoria. Carl Kurucz earned save number 4.
The Outlaws got a big at-bat from catcher Trevor Ayotte. For the game, Ayotte was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Calgary a 5-1 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Ayotte said.
Victoria's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
