The Montreal Royales topped the Kelowna Heat by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Terry Merritt. Merritt went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Royales. Stephen Lau saved it for Montreal. The Royales bumped their record to 8-8 with this latest triumph.

The Royales got a big at-bat from right fielder Christopher Cowley. For the game, Cowley was 1-4. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 14th hit of the season gave Montreal a 4-3 lead.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cowley.
