The Niagara Stars faced a tough opponent in London pitcher Zack Hogan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hatchets Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Hogan went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Niagara reliever Corey Rathwell picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Ray Batstone shouldered the loss. The Stars are now 6-10, while the Monarchs fall to 8-8.

John Makeever swatted a 3-run home run for Niagara in the top of the eighth. The center fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.

Makeever told a Niagara Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
