Both teams had their chances, but the Rubber City Rhinos eventually prevailed at The Rubber Grounds.

The Rubber City Rhinos racked up a win at The Rubber Grounds, bumping off the Hawaii Islanders, 4-3. James Thompson, who started for Rubber City, pitched effectively for his team. Shinzo Sasaki converted his 24th save in 28 tries.

In the bottom of the 6th, designated hitter Pedro Pérez gave Rubber City the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Rhinos had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Hawaii pitcher Rodrigo Garza changed that -- and Rubber City went on to win.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Pérez told the Rubber City Chronicle.

The Rhinos have an impressive 48-26 record.
