Stars Lose, 5-1, at Eliminators Ballpark
|
Montreal Royales starter Jim Spracklin was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Niagara Stars, 5-1. Spracklin, now 2-1, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Picking up the save was Stephen Lau, his 2nd.
Terry Merritt, who is rated as the 20th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Montreal with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Montreal manager Kevin Haynes.
The Stars fall to 4-7 and continue their wobbly start to the 2033 season.
