Legends Subdue Victoria, 5-3
|
Ballpark of Chilliwack College was the site of a competitive game between the Victoria Capitals and Saskatoon Legends.
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Rick Petzinger, the Saskatoon Legends defeated the Victoria Capitals, 5-3. Petzinger was 2-2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch for the Legends. Terrence Hann, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Brian Gunter locked down his 2nd save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Bob Legrow, who is rated as the 62nd best prospect by BNN, hit a single. The Legends went on to win.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Petzinger.
Saskatoon, now 5-2, has played well in the early going.
