Prest Goes Wild, But Capitals Win
The Victoria Capitals overcame a good performance by Trois-Rivieres third baseman Vernon Prest to knock off Trois-Rivieres, 16-12, at Blue Wings Ballpark. Prest hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Victoria is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 5 games.

John Matchim drew 1 walk in 2 trips to the plate for Victoria. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 12-12 tie with a run-scoring walk off Gates Butler. It was his 1st walk of the season.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Matchim told a Victoria Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
