Riding the 2-hit performance of the 20-year old center fielder Jim Jameson, the London Monarchs stopped the Montreal Royales, 10-2. Keith Ormon got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Martin Lacrosse earned the save for London, his 1st of the year.
Herbert Howe, who is the 8th-best prospect in the Monarchs organization, chipped in for London with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said London manager Chet Hooper.
The Monarchs, now 4-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
