Capitals Spoil Opening Day for Heat, Their Fans
The 2033 season began for the Kelowna Heat with a loss to the Victoria Capitals at Brantford College Grounds. The final score was 11-1. Victoria left fielder Gideon Vaillancourt earned top player honors. The winner was Dave Sonier in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bill Montgomery took the loss.

In the top of the seventh inning, second baseman Kip Waltenbery came through big-time for the Capitals. With Victoria leading 7-1, he belted a 3-run home run.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Waltenbery. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
