Monarchs Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The London Monarchs ushered in the 2033 season with a win versus the Calgary Outlaws at Hatchets Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Starting Pitcher Zack Hogan, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, was named player of the game. The winner was Harry Ayotte in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Carl Kurucz took the loss.
The Monarchs got a big at-bat from shortstop Bruce Fleet. For the game, Fleet was 2-5 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 2nd hit of the season gave London a 3-2 lead.
"This place was rockin'," said Fleet.
