Islanders Drop Titans with Late Score
Crowds lined up early in front of Ballpark of Morelia HS, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2033 LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL season. On the mound was Cole Sanford for the visiting Carl Albert Titans and J.D. Lindsey for the hometown Grand Island Islanders. In a spirited contest, the Islanders pulled out the win, defeating the Titans by the score of 10-9. Earning player of the game honors was Derek McIndoe.

Andy Critch went 1-4 for Grand Island. The 18-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 9-9 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tom Frenchik. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Critch told the Grand Island Bulletin. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
