Aggies Continue Skid Thanks to Bourque, Ducks
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Matt Bourque, the Oregon Ducks defeated the Texas A&M Aggies, 8-6. Bourque was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Ducks. Justin Phelps, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits in 5.1 innings. Victor Bustos locked down his 11th save.
Mike Christopher aided the Oregon cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the third. For the game, the shortstop was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
In postgame comments to the Oregon Herald, Christopher said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Texas A&M is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
