|
Washington State right-hander Francisco Palacios was sensational in shutting out the California Golden Bears, 5-0. Washington State reliever Francisco Palacios got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Erik Teunissen was tagged with the loss. The Cougars have an impressive 29-17 record.
The Cougars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Nate Worley. For the game, Worley was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 37th hit of the season gave Washington State a 2-0 lead.
In postgame comments to the Washington State Observer, Palacios said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
