Tulane starter Tyrese Bates pitched effectively against the Stanford Cardinals at Surfers Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a 7-6 win. Tulane reliever Michael Dare picked up the win to move to 2-2. Davin Craney suffered the loss. Troy King earned the save for Tulane, his 7th of the year.

This game was not decided until late. With two out in the top of the ninth, Mike Stacy drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Green Wave took the lead, 7-6.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Bates told the Tulane Today.
