Yellow Jackets Clip Volunteers in Tight Contest
|
Georgia Tech rode a good effort from starter J.J. Rex to beat the Tennessee Volunteers at Madera College Grounds. The final score was 3-0. Steven Wood locked down his 12th save. The Yellow Jackets bumped their record to 28-18 with this latest triumph.
Georgia Tech used the timely hitting of David Corey to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Yellow Jackets on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Corey.
