Longhorns Need Extras to Top Cougars
The Ballpark of Celebration College faithful were treated to a dramatic, walk-off win.

Texas beat Washington State at Ballpark of Celebration College, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher John Near, who earned player of the game honors. The Longhorns now have a record of 17-28 with the win over Washington State.

Texas won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Eric Martindale on the mound for Washington State, third baseman Tim Flynn hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Longhorns fans to their feet.

In postgame comments, Flynn said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
