Beavers Win at California, 5-3
|
Oregon State right fielder Andy Stanley played a vital role in his team's 5-3 triumph over California. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Oregon State. Brian LaJeunesse finished to wrap up his 9th save. The 16th-place Beavers now have a 4-game winning streak.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from center fielder Ken Liba. For the game, Liba went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Oregon State a 2-1 lead.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Oregon State manager Mike Cole.
