Late Rally by Cyclones Secures Win
|
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets got a superb performance from pitcher Justin Weber. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Iowa State. The Cyclones won the game, 6-4. In spite of the loss, Weber was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The Cyclones have an impressive 27-17 record.
Iowa State took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, catcher Ben Wollney hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We take it day by day here," said Wollney, "and today was a good one for us."
