The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Kansas Jayhawks, 14-12, at Ramparts Ballpark. Arkansas designated hitter Andrew Taylor was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Arkansas reliever Travis Cotten picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Travis Thomason absorbed the loss. Paul Wadden earned the save for Arkansas, his 7th of the year.

The Razorbacks got a big at-bat from first baseman Josh Howard. For the game, Howard went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 8th hit of the season gave Arkansas a 3-1 lead.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Howard told a Arkansas Observer reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

The 20th-place Razorbacks are now 18-26, the Jayhawks 21-23.
