Golden Bears Win at Long Beach State, 4-2
California turned a good effort from starter Miguel Salmeron into a win over the Long Beach State 49'ers at Ballpark of Macclenny College. The final score was 4-2. Salmeron got the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Salmeron allowed 1 earned run. The Golden Bears raised their record to 18-25.

The Golden Bears used some clutch hitting to beat the 49'ers, a good example being the at-bat of Evan Wescott in the top of the third. With two down, Wescott gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he hit a 2-run single.

"I thought we played a nice game," Salmeron told the California Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
