Malone Hits 2 home runs in Hurricanes Win
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Matt Malone, the Miami Hurricanes defeated the Florida State Seminoles, 3-2. Malone hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Hurricanes. Miami reliever Steve Huval picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. John Spears shouldered the loss. Miami, at 16-27, sits in 21st place in the Ron Fraser Division.

Malone had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 fastball from John Spears, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Hurricanes a 3-2 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Malone.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Malone said.
