Bears Prevail, 2-1, Over USC
|
The Bears had to overcome a fine performance from USC pitcher Kyle Gaeta to grab a 2-1 win at Wolverines Stadium. Gaeta allowed 1 earned run over 5.1 innings. The Bears, now 27-15, have won 8 in a row.
The Bears got a big at-bat from third baseman Steve King. For the game, King was 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Baylor a 2-1 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Baylor skipper Steve Oliver.
