Rice left-hander John Newmaster pitched his team to victory over the Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns at Toughkenamon College Fields. The final score was 4-1. B.J. Kelly earned the save for Rice, his 8th. Rice, at 17-25, occupies 20th place in the Cliff Gustafson.
