Cyclones Walk It Off for 25th Win of Season
Virginia got a terrific game from first baseman Curt Ellefson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Iowa State, 8-7. Ellefson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Iowa State reliever Nick Swanson picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Jerry Kemp absorbed the loss. The Cyclones bumped their record to 25-17 with this latest triumph.

Jeremiah Spidell chipped in for Iowa State with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 11th. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"We came out aggressive," said Cyclones manager Theodore Foster. "We came out swinging the bats."
